Airasia CEO Back For Second Round
By Izam S Ya'akub

Bandar Seri Begawan - ASIA Inc Forum announced that Tony Fernandes, CEO of AirAsia, will be .speaking at the East Asean Business Summit to be held September 19 till 20, at the Mall, Gadong.

Due to popular demand, Tony Fernandes was invited back to the Sultanate to share his entrepreneurial ideas and participate in a session at the summit on breathing new life into the BIMP-EAGA sub region.

The region has always offered tremendous potential but has been severely restricted by limited air and sea linkages within the EAGA region.

It will be interesting to see if the AirAsia model can help turn the region into an attractive investment destination, as their motto claims, `Now Everyone Can Fly'.

The East Asean Business Summit aims to bring together 350 leading business and government figures from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and beyond. There will be two facets to the business meetings - the trade and tourism expo and the East Asean Business Summit - to be held from September 19 till 23.

The two events combined offer a tremendous opportunity to promote Brunei and assist local entrepreneurs and corporations in doing business with the Sultanate's immediate neighbours.

It is also a good opportunity for neighbouring countries to explore business prospects here in Brunei and with each other. In addition, the International Chambers of Commerce of the northern territory of Australia is looking into sending a delegation to attend the expo and the summit.

The East Asean Business Summit is partnered by leading corporations in Brunei, namely Total, Brunei LNG, HSBC, DST Group, Bearing Point and Royal Brunei Airlines, as the official airline.

The summit will provide an opportunity for local businesses to explore avenues that exist beyond the border in neighbouring countries.

It will also provide networking for overseas businesses interested in Brunei to discover what possibilities there are here.
