13 teams for NBT futsal meet

Thirteen teams are now battling for the 2005 NBT Trophy Futsal Tournament at the Multipurpose Hall, Berakas from Aug 9-30.

The teams are divided into two groups where only the top two teams will qualify for the final on Aug 30.

Group A comprised Pita FC, HTI FC, Star 5, Cocktail, ABDB and Setia Bersatu while Group B consisted of QAF FC, Maulana FC, MBS, JBS, Unit Keinderaan, Perka and Arrow. Four matches were played during the opening ceremony on Tuesday night. Group A's HTI FC defeated Setia Bersatu 3-1 while ABDB and Pita FC fought to a scoreless draw. Perka of Group B crushed Arrow 3-1 and Unit Keinderaan beat MBS 2-0.

Group A will play their next round robin matches on Aug 16 at the Multipurpose Hall from 8pm, while Group B will play on Aug 23 from 8pm and Aug 26 at 2pm.

The tournament was organised by Brunei-Muara District Football Association.

NBT Marketing Manager Anthony Ong officially launched the tournament on Tuesday. Also present was Brunei-Muara District Football Association President Pg Hj Ali Hassan and the organising committee.
