An officer from the Counselling and
Career Guidance Unit, Ministry of Education presented a career talk on
'Characteristics of Excellent Students' at the lecture hall of IGS
College in Kiulap yesterday.
Over 60 students from the college
attended the talk, which was conducted by Awang Ali Yusri. Also
present were IGS College Principal Hj Shahri bin Hj Awg Besar and
other facilitators.
The talk was to motivate students to
strive harder in achieving academic excellence and to equip them with
a new and effective learning technique that would help them excel in
their studies.
Among the topics that were discussed
include the importance of education among the community, parents'
expectations, proper studying plans and peer pressure.
IGS
College currently offers two BDTVEC programmes including Pre-National
Diploma (PND) and National Diploma (ND) in Computer Studies as well as
Business & Finance.
The college, which was initiated in
2004, is the first tertiary college in the country to offer BDTVEC
courses.
