Sorts School Athletes Champions

Bandar Seri Begawan - Sports School emerged the overall champions for boys and girls categories at the athletics championship for government and non-government secondary schools and colleges at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium Complex in Berakas on Sunday.

The champions for Boys (B) and Girls (B) were Sports School while SMPIHM Secondary School of Serasa were Boys (C) champions and Chung Hwa Middle School were Girls (C) champions.

Five hundred students from 29 schools and colleges took part in the meet.

The chief guest was Awang Hj Ishaaq bin Hj Abdullah, the Deputy Permanent Secretary III at the Ministry of Education.

Among the events contested were 3000m, high jump, discus, 4x1 00m relay, long jump, 1500m, 100m, javelin and 800m.

The championship was organised by Co-Curriculum Education Department of the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the working committee for the athletics championship for government and non-government secondary schools and colleges. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
