necessity of two entities - emotional intelligence and the practice of
dynamic work culture - which are much needed by all staff in order to
increase office productivity.
"It is vital for workers to be able
to control their emotion in order to maximise their productivity to
contribute to the overall efficiency of their companies," said the
lecturers.
They also advised Muslim workers to
increase religious activities such as zikir to purify their hearts so
they can concentrate on their daily works.
They said negative characteristics
such as jealousy, greed, pride and bad temperament must be erased
coworkers only possess positive traits.
"Knowledge and common sense are two
important factors in performing tasks to the best of their abilities,"
they said.
The two reminded participants the
need to possess the 11 characteristics as listed in the Guidance for
Visions of Public Services in 21st Century, a Brunei Government
publication. They also called for participants to question themselves
and think creatively, analytically and critically.
"If possible workers must attempt
extreme sporting activities as well as to perform expedition and
adventure, and play computer games.
"Intelligent workers must be
knowledgeable about their surroundings and current affairs by reading
books and newspapers.
"They must also participate in
seminars and forums, and visit expos and exhibitions as well as to
find opportunities so their voices can be heard," they said, adding
