Special Olympics Sponsorship
Signing Ceremony

Begawan – An official signing ceremony for sponsorship
agreement for the upcoming Special Olympics Asia-Pacific Bocce
Competition 2005 was held at the Information Department yesterday
afternoon.
Present to sign the agreement on
behalf of the organising committee was Pg Datin Hjh Noraini PDNLDR Pg
Hj Abd Momin, Chairperson of the National Special Olympics of Brunei
Darussalam.
Among the representatives of sponsors
present to sign the agreement were Andrew Young, Deputy General
Manager Operations of Baiduri Bank, Valentine Hon of Kingston Beverage
& Creamery and Lim Eng Thai of Jasra Harrisons Sdn Bhd.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by
the Director of Community Development at the Ministry of Culture,
Youth and Sports, Datin Hjh Adinah Hj Othman.
The strong commitment and support
given by the various private bodies and government agencies is the
main drive to make the upcoming event a success, said Hj Mahrub Hj
Murni, Chairperson of the Organising Committee of the Special Olympics
Asia-Pacific Bocce Competition in his speech.
"We convey our gratitude to all the
sponsors who have contributed in one way or another to the special
athletes to enable them to prove themselves in the Special Olympics,
an arena for those intellectually disabled but physically spirited,"
he said.
He said Baiduri Bank will be
providing medals as well as T-shirts, food and drinks for the
participants and the committee members during the three-day Special
Olympics to be held from August 12 to 14 at the Hassanal Bolkiah
National Stadium.
Kingston Beverage & Creamery, he
added, has agreed to contribute free flow of Pepsi drinks and mineral
water as well as T-shirts, posters, billboards, banners, A-boards and
umbrellas for the participants.
Jasra
Harrisons Sdn Bhd will provide Milo drinks, Tshirts, banners,
A-boards, umbrellas and tag numbers.
Special Olympics Asia-Pacific Bocce
Competition is organised by the National Special Olympics of Brunei
Darussalam together with Pusat Ehsan and the Ministry of Culture,
Youth and Sports. --
