KB Fire Station Wins Arch, Lighting Decor Competition

Kuala Belait - Kuala Belait Fire Station won the Arch and Lights Decoration competition held in conjunction with His Majesty's 59th birthday celebration this year. The event was divided into five categories.

The competition conducted by the Belait District Electrical Services Department is an annual project for the royal birthday celebration.

The judging format for the competition this year has been slightly altered by awarding full marks for the safety aspect, with the objective of creating awareness on the importance of safety not only during competition but also in daily activities.

In his speech, the chairman of the panel of judges, Awang Malai Hassan bin Malai Haji Othman, stated that few contestants this year had failed to give attention to the safety aspect but the design and lighting were generally well done. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
