Baiduri Contributes To Special
Athletes

Begawan – Baiduri Bank as one of the major sponsors for the
Special Olympics Asia-Pacific Bocce Competition 2005 signed the
sponsorship agreement with the organising committee of the upcoming
event yesterday afternoon.
Signing on behalf of Baiduri Bank was
its Deputy General Manager Operations, Andrew Young, who also
spearheads the Baiduri Bank Charity Golf, an annual fundraising
initiative undertaken by the bank to contribute towards local
charities.

Bank contributed B$20,290 towards the Special Olympics Asia-Pacific
Bocce Competition 2005, providing meals for the special athletes' and
working committee throughout the three-day event, as well as medals
for winners.
"We are delighted to announce our
sponsorship agreement with the National Special Olympics of Brunei.
Its mission and objectives fit well into our corporate citizenship
efforts.
"We hope that through this event and
many other programmes organised by the National Special Olympics,
individuals with special needs many benefit from participation in team
sports," said Mr Pierre Imhof, General Manager of Baiduri Bank.
"The well-being of the local
communities is important to us. Besides our support for the National
Special Olympics, we have also been working closely with other
government and nonprofit organisations including Pusat Ehsan, the
Child Development Centre and Society for the Management of
Autism-Related Issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER)
Brunei.
"We are proud to be a part of local
and national projects that are improving the community and positively
impacting people's lives," said Mr Imhof. --
