Religious Clerk Fined For Misappropriating 1200

Bandar Seri Begawan - A grade II clerk at the Unit Kutipan danAgihan Zakat, Islamic Religious Council, Ministry of Religious Affairs, has been fined $1,000 by the High Court in Bandar Seri Begawan for misappropriating $1,200 which was entrusted to him and to be given to a recipient of "Baitul Mal".

In a press release, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said, Haji Noraziman bin Haji Abd Rahman was ordered by the court to pay the fine within one week or face two weeks imprisonment, after he pleaded guilty to the charge under Section 403 of the Penal Code.
