Power Snap In Temburong As Trees Fall And Engine Fails

Bandar Seri Begawan – The outlaying Temburong District faced a major power cut yesterday disrupting life and damaging property.

Several areas in Temburong District suffered a six-hour blackout during peak hours, reportedly caused by an engine failure at the main power station.

The electrical faults and complaints Hotline in Temburong said power went off at 8.43am was only restored around 3pm.

Several rural areas were affected including upriver Batang Duri.

Later in the afternoon, there was another power failure that affected three different areas Kampong Kenua, Amo C and Sumbiling.

According to the Hotline, some trees that fell on high tension cables during a storm late yesterday afternoon snapped power supply to the areas.
