Religious Teachers Committee Launched In Tutong

Bandar Seri Begawan – Some 200 religious teachers in the Tutong District attended the launch of the formation of the Tutong District Religious Teachers Committee recently at the Seri Kenangan Hall, Tutong District Community Centre.

Cikgu Nooralizam bin Hj Idris was elected the chairman of the 441-member committee.

Among the aims of the association is to expose teachers to current technology and ICT literacy issues.

It is also aimed at encouraging teamwork spirit and fostering ties among the members.

The launch was officiated by Assistant Director of Islamic Studies, Ministry of Education Hj Aji bin Hj Ishak, who later handed mementos and certificates of appreciation to retired teachers and teachers who taught Primary 6 between 2003 and 2004.

Hj Aji also handed a memento to Tutong District Islamic Studies Officer Sheikh Hj Abd Khalid bin Sheikh Hj Yahya, which concluded the event. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
