Stars Lure Large Crowds To Celebration Site In Kilanas

Bandar Seri Begawan - Malaysian artistes SalwaAbd Rahman and Liza Abdullah as well as legendary evergreen actors Aziz Sattar and Wahid Satay proved to be the star attractions at the multi-variety activities currently held until August 7 at the field of Sekolah Rendah Bendahara Sakam Bunut in Kilanas.

Organised by the Mukim Kilanas Consultative Council (MPMK) to commemorate His Majesty's 59h birthday, the stars managed to pull plenty of visitors to the celebration site with a variety of stage entertainment.

Apart from performing intermittently on the celebration stage, yesteryear singer Salwa Abd Rahman also acted as a jury for the singing competitions.

Visitors coming to the site are able to buy items like clothing, electrical products and personal and house accessories at discounted prices at some of the 60 stalls operated by budding local entrepreneurs. A number of eateries are also found at the site.

The organising chairman Hj Abd Rahman Yusof said the closing ceremony of the event shall take place at 8.30pm on August 7 at the venue.

"The ceremony is to be officiated by the chief guest, Pehin Dato Hj Adanan, chairman of the National 1_ °ecutive Committee of His Majesty's 59a Birthday Celebration.

"Various activities have been planned for the closing ceremony including performances presented by foreign and local artistes as well as participants of six villages L inder Mukirn Kilanas," he said.
