Two Primary School Students Go
Hysterical
By Haji Minor Absah
Bandar Seri
Begawan - The mysterious hysteria phenomenon that has been
troubling students in STPRI has showed no signs of abating. Yesterday
it struck a nearby primary school.
Two female students aged eight at
Sekoiah Rendah Raja Isteri Fatimah reportedly started screaming all of
a sudden and wept during a religious class at around 9am.
The unexplained phenomenon had struck
the Sekolah Tinggi Perempuan Raja Isteri last week forcing the
Ministry of Education to give a day off to the students. This week
more students went hysterical.
According to some teachers at the
primary school, it was the first time such an incident had happened at
the school.
What triggered the hysteria that
struck the two young girls yesterday is still unknown. But quick
action by teachers ensured that everything was under control and the
two students managed to regain their composure in less than an hour.
More than 10 students were struck by
hysteria beginning July 21 at STPRI and then four more Tuesday.
With many theories and speculations
about the hysteria doing the rounds, concerned parents have appealed
to authorities to come forward with explanations to assure them that
everything is fine. --
