Crash Course On Constructing
Innovative Teams

Begawan - The Asean-EC Management Centre yesterday organised a
two-day programme on `Constructing Innovative Teams - How to Build
Profit-Making Teams.'
Twenty-eight officers and executives
from the public and private sector organisations turned up for the
programme held at the Asean-EC Management Centre Sukma Indera Hall.
Present to conduct the programme was
AAMC Managing Director (Australia) Greg Kinnaird, who specialises in
Organisational Development with a focus on management development.
Greg has operated in various
managerial positions and has gained practical experience from working
within various industry sectors, including construction,
manufacturing, computing and finance.
According to a press release from
Asean-ECMC, the key to effective management and leadership is the
ability to construct innovative teams.
By attending the programme,
participants will develop an understanding of the difference and the
connection between management, leadership and teamwork. With the
understanding, leadership and teamwork potential can be maximised in
order to increase productivity and profits.
The programme allows participants to
build innovative teams using the Belbin Team Roles to maximise
performance and results; plan individual development towards
innovation initiatives to increase desire, motivation, productivity
and outputs; implement leadership and membership strategies to get
immediate results as well as utilise and apply advance team
techniques.
Some of the programme outline
includes introduction to Belbin Team Roles and the influence on
behaviour in terms of the innovative thinking ability of teams and
individuals, and building/constructing balanced teams by focusing on
team roles and the key stages for success in innovative projects.
