Chess champions

One hundred and fifty students aged seven to 18 took part in the Age Group Chess Championship 2005 held in conjunction with His Majesty's 59th birthday celebrations. The meet was organised by the Organising Committee of Chess Championships for Brunei and Muara. The champions were Munir Azizi bin Ahmad, Nusa Laila Puteri School (U-10), Muhd Nur Ariffin bin Hj Azahari, Pintu Malim Primary School (U-12), Muhd Arif Afifi bin Sabli, PJN Abu Bakar Secondary School, KB (U-14), Mohd Sarif bin Awang Mahmud, Jamalul Alam Secondary School (U-16) and Md Nadzri bin Hj Tuneh, Muda Hashim Secondary School (U-18). Muda Hashim Secondary School, Tutong was also awarded the "Best School" trophy at the meet.
