PTAS Launches New Plant And Inspection Site

Bandar Seri Begawan – A local company, PTAS recorded another milestone with the launching ceremony of a new chemical processing plant and an inspection site at its headquarters in the industrial area in Kuala Belait.

Dato Paduka Haji Hamdilah bin HajiAbdul Wahab, the Deputy Minister of industry and Primary Resources, congratulated the company for its continued success during the official launching ceremony of the new plant.

According to him, the PTAS Company situated at the Kuala Belait Industrial Site for 12 years, has played an important role in providing employment opportunities to the locals.

The Managing Director of PTAS, Awang Haji Amir Haj i Osman in his speech said that the 100 per cent locally owned company had invested more than $5 million and now has three office blocks, two workshops and a store together with the chemical processing plant on a five-hectare site.

Since its formation in the 80's the company followed two basic principles, that is ensuring they have the perfect infrastructure in carrying out works, amenities, organisation and system while also including value-added activities.

The chemical processing plant produces processed chemical water and has been supplying it to Brunei LNG Company for the past 12 years with a shipment of nearly 250 tonnes a year. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
