Datuk M Daud Kilau (C), the Raja Gelek of Malaysia will perform here on August 27.

Malaysia's well-known Roller Dance King or Raja Gelek, Datuk M Daud Kilau will be performing at the celebration stage fronting Royal Regalia in Jalan Bendahara on August 27.

Apart from him, Sahri of Akademi Fantasia 1 and Syura, Malaysia's teenage singing sensation, will also be performing at the curtain raiser of the Royal Wedding celebration.

Organised by the Brunei-Muara District Office, the combined performance of local and foreign artistes is made possible by the show coordinator De Hayat Musical and Production.

The company will also be responsible for ensuring quality sound system during the curtain-raiser performance. Given the wide experience it has gained for the past three years through coordinating the Malam Serumpun festival to celebrate His Majesty's birthday, it shouldn't be a problem for them.

Local artistes, Hjh Suzi and Erna, will join the three Malaysians for the multi-fiesta stage performance, to be backed by a local dance group, Lively Dancers.

Cultural dancers from three villages in the Brunei Muara District will also join in the fun.

The dancers of Kg Kulapis will feature the traditional routine of Tarian Aduk-Aduk while the Kg Bolkiah dancers would show their dancing ability with three traditional routines - Tarian Adai-Adai, Anding and Yadan-Yadan.

The Kg Serasa dancers will attempt the ronggeng dance, usually featured in Indonesian traditional routines.

Fresh from their energetic performance at the Malam Serumpun last August 7, the local dance group, Lively Dancers will again feature the same routine that captivated the hearts of the audience, Menjunjung Duli.

The dance group from Kg Bolkiah will also belt out songs, flex their muscles during dance routines and hit the drums called gendang.

The dancers will be backed up by a live band from Kg Batong who will also play the keyboards and gambus.

A full band will also accompany the Kg Serasa ronggeng dancers complete with singers, dancers and guitarists.

More performances by local and foreign artistes will also be taking place at the celebration venue, organised by government agencies and non-governmental organisations.

During the Royal Wedding celebration, a total of 269 booths will be available at the two venues in the capital - the open area fronting the Royal Regalia in Jalan Bendahara and Taman Jubli Perak Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah in Pusar Ulak.

Booth operators will commence trading on August 26 until September 12 for a total of 18 nights.
