'Dayangku' Leading Artiste Due Here For Premiere

Bandar Seri Begawan - Diana Rafar, one of the Malaysian leading artistes who acted in the joint telemovie project 'Dayangku', has confirmed her arrival here for the premiere show at International Convention Centre, Berakas on the evening of August 24.

Her sister, Linda Rafar, may also attend the launching along with other artistes from Sabah and Brunei, said Onn Ariffin, executive chairman of Jawat Pelangi Sdn Bhd.

Diana and Sabah artistes as well as the director and assistant director of the telemovie will be arriving in Brunei Darussalam on August 22.

Dayangku is a joint-venture telemovie project between Sabah's Jawat Pelangi Sdn Bhd and Brunei's Phab Production.

Onn Ariffin and his wife Senator Datuk Hajah Dayangku Mahani Tun Pengiran Haji Ahmad Raffae - the project financier and adviser - arrived in Brunei Darussalam yesterday.

The Malaysian artistes Diana Rafar, Linda Rafar as well as Sabah stars Den, Awen and Fareez will perform at the event.

Brunei's rising star Dk Moniri Pg Mohiddin,who has cut a mini album to be marketed in BIMP-EAGA, a sub economic region with a population of 55 million people, will also be belting out a few numbers with Den.

Tickets priced at $500, $400, $300, $200, $100 and $50 are available at No 60, Spg 237, Jalan Istana Darul Hana, BSB (Tel 8688820, 8650013, 8632785), Pemodo Restaurant in Jalan Telanai, Beribi, Senja Rasa Restaurant at Mile 1 An Tutong and Persatuan Pembila, Kuala Belait (Tel 8808578).

Part of the proceedings will be donated to the Pengiran Muda AI-Muhtadee Billah's Orphans Fund, said Pg Hj Abu Bakar Pg DP Hj Mohamad, executive producer of Phab Production.

Meanwhile Onn said a group of cultural dancers from Sabah will arrive here to perform on September 7 during the Royal Wedding celebrations under the organisation of Dewan Perniagaan dan Perusahaan Melayu Brunei (DPPMB). -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
