Awg Bantong spoke of his experiences during the "International Visitor Programme", a project participated by senior officers from museums from seven countries, namely, Bahrain, Brunei Darussalam, Czech Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Kenya and Nepal. Each country sent a representative.

Sponsored by the US Government, the project first took the officials to the US state of Utah, followed by Tulsa, Los Angeles, New Orleans and Washington DC.

Among the programme's aims were to enhance appreciation of the values of American culture shown through its museums as well as to provide a wide overview of historical and contemporary museums in the US.
