PR Teenager Remanded For Stealing Aluminium Signage

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Magistrate's Court in Bandar yesterday sent a 17-year-old permanent resident for a week's remand at the Central Police Station while he faces a charge of theft pending further investigations.

No plea was taken from Md Kamarulzaman Kamarudin for a charge of stealing several pieces of aluminium signboards from the storeroom at the Public Works Department (JKR), Simpang 297, Jalan Kumbang Pasang at about 2.30 pm on August 1 with three other men.

The charge, committing theft in a building used for the custody of property, preferred by Deputy Public Prosecutor Norhayati DP Hj Omar carries a penalty of an imprisonment term which may extend to seven years with a fine. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
