Two Drug Users Fined

Bandar Seri Begawan - Two men were fined by the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court yesterday after they pleaded guilty to charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Ahmad Kharayeady bin Adam was fined $2,300 or in default four months' imprisonment after he admitted to consuming a class A controlled drug, Methylamphetamine and for possessing drug utensils for consuming drugs.

Meanwhile, 29-year-old Md Esa Hj Abu Bakar was fined $1,500 or three months in jail after he pleaded guilty to consuming 'Syabu'.

The Narcotic Control Bureau Prosecutor, Pg Othman Pg Hj Ali, said both defendants were arrested on April 29, 2002 at a house in Simpang 87-136, Jalan Babu Raja, Kampong Beribi. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
