His Majesty On Working Visit To Belait

Kuala Belait - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei yesterday conducted a working visit to the Belait District.

On hand to greet His Majesty were Dato Paduka Awg Hj Mohd Yusof bin Bakar, Belait District Officer; Awg Abdul Majid bin Alias, Chairman of the Municipal Board of Kuala Belait/Seria; and, senior government officers of the Belait District.

Also in attendance during the royal visit, which began at the Orang Kaya Pemancha Berandai Bukit Sawat Primary School, was Pehin Dato Awg Hj Dani Hj Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office.

His Majesty was greeted on arrival at the primary school by the school's teaching staff. The monarch then consented to visit the Merangking Primary School and the Multi Purpose Hall iri Labi.

From the multipurpose hall, His Majesty then proceeded to the Labi Chung Hua Primary School and Labi Primary School where His Majesty observed the young students undergoing their lessons.

His Majesty also consented to take a closer look at the facilities available to the students, including computer classes and preparation of food areas for students in the schools.

Next in the Brunei ruler's itinerary was the Labi Health Centre and Labi Police Station.

The ruler inspected various facilities at the Health Centre and police station.

His Majesty's working visit concluded with a tour to Kuala Belait where he took the opportunity to look at the Bumiputera Building and the surrounding commercial areas.

The working visit to the Belait District yesterday illustrated His Majesty's concern with regards to the functions of His Majesty's government in improving the education and health of the citizens as well as various infrastructures that has been provided by the government of His Majesty to improve the welfare and well being of the community and citizens.

His Majesty's working visit will also act as a catalyst for all relevant parties to uphold the nation's aspirations by performing their duties and responsibilities with more commitment, dedication and efficiency.  -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
