All set for the Grand Finals of 12th eXplomaths Oral Quiz 2004

Chung Hwa Middle School BSB will meet St Andrew's in the 12th eXplomaths Oral Quiz Competition 2004 Grand Finals that is going to take place at Radio Television Brunei on November 27, 2004.

Chung Hwa was able to outsmart Maktab Sains and book their place in the semis with a 29-23 score while St Andrew's School took the other spot by beating Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar Secondary School of KB 22-19, yesterday morning.

This year, the competition is hosted by Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Secondary School of Kg Mentiri as part of the many activities organised in conjunction with the 12th eXplomaths 2004.

Beside the National Math Oral Quiz, the school had also organised a workshop on developing e-lesson for mathematics, a three-day exhibition contest, maths car trail and many more.

Objectives of eXplomaths 2004, or e-mathematics Xplosion, are to promote the use of e-learning amongst students in mathematics as well as give students and teachers a wide variety of opportunities to explore the wonders of mathematics.

Through e-learning, one can enhance the teaching and learning of mathematics by enabling students to explore, describe and explain number patterns; experiment with, and discuss properties of patterns in shape and space; as well as develop their mathematics vocabulary.
