269 Stall Operators Picked For
Royal Wedding

Begawan - A total of 269 operators had been selected in a
ballot held at the Exhibition Hall, Bumiputera Commercial and Trade
Centre Building in the capital Sunday afternoon for the right to
operate booths during the Royal Wedding celebrations this August and
September.

Saji bin Hj Mudin, Chairman of Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Board,
conducted the ballot.
The lucky operators would conduct
their trading at two trade venues - the open area in front of the
Royal Regalia building and at the Taman Jubli Perak Sultan Haji
Hassanal Bolkiah, both in the capital.
The operators will commence trading
on August 26 until September 12 for a total of eighteen nights.
At the open area in front of the
Royal Regalia building in Jalan Bendahara, a total of 170 booths would
be temporarily erected comprising 18 eateries, 75 retail stalls, 48
take-away booths, 15 fruit stalls and 14 snack stalls.
Another 99 booths will also be
available for selected operators comprising 10 eateries, 40 retail
stalls, 33 take-away booths, 6 fruit stalls and 10 snack stalls at the
Taman Jubli Perak Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
Both areas will also be venues for
stage performances by government agencies and non-government
organisations as well as schools.
Selected operators will pay from $420
for eateries to $180 for snack stalls for the 18-night trade
activities. --
