Religious Affairs Holds Seminar On
Quran Teachings

Begawan - A seminar on `increasing awareness and quality of
Muslims towards the al-Quran' (`Meningkatkan Kesedaran Dan Kualiti
Umat Islam Terhadap Al-Quran) was held yesterday.
It was held in conjunction with the
adult national level al-Quran reading competition. organised by the
Ministry of Religious Affairs.

member countries made four presentations at the seminar conducted at
the Islamic Dakwah Centre.

Luar Pekerma Raja Dato Seri Utama Dr. Ustaz Awang Haji Mohd Zain bin
Haji Serudin, Minister of Religious Affairs.

Awang Ibrahim, the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Acting
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and event
chairman, as well as other senior ministry officials were present.
The guest of honour highlighted the
importance of increasing efforts effective in the spread of the vision
of the contents of al-Quran teachings.
This will be part of service
contribution to past 'ulama-ulama,' who have researched the teachings
of the al-Quran.
They spread the vision of the al-Quran
teachings so it could be understood well by Muslims.
This in turn became a motivator for
courage and determination for Muslims in striving for success that is
of quality and blessed by Allah.
The seminar will touch upon the
position and role of the al-Quran as a source of vision, foundation of
knowledge and a motivator of success, he said.
The research on the teachings of the
al-Quran is important to be widely spread especially to the Muslim
youth so they can picture the real contents of the teachings of the
al-Quran, he said.
It is important for these youths to
have faith in the teachings and understand the directions the
teachings of the al-Quran will lead them to, he said.
The seminar aimed for the relevant
agencies to play an active role in the contribution towards
self-improvement, spread the knowledge and vision of the contents of
the al-Quran, and provide some answers in the many challenges faced by
Muslims in this era of globalisation and modernisation. --
