Malaysian Navy Leaves After Naval
Exercise

Begawan - The Royal Malaysian Navy left the Sultanate yesterday
morning with the Royal Brunei Navy crew sending it off at the end of a
bilateral exercise.
The four vessels of the Royal
Malaysian Navy - KD Paus, KD Pari, KD Handalan & KD Gempita - had been
in Brunei Darussalam since July 24 to conduct the bilateral exercise
with the Royal Brunei Navy.
It is the 16th session in a series of
exercises hosted this year by the Royal Brunei Navy.
The KDB Waspada, KDB Pejuang, KDB
Setria, KDB Perwira, KDB Pemburu & KDB Penyerang formed the 6 ships
from the Royal Brunei Navy's fleet, which participated in the
exercise. They joined two vessels of the Royal Malaysian Navy from
East Malaysia and another two from West Malaysia, which combined to
form the contingent from RMN. Altogether, 400 Navy personnel from 10
vessels involved in this year's exercise.
The opening ceremony conducted on
July 26 signalled the commencement of the exercise, which was
activated by Lt. Colonel (L) Abd. Aziz Hj. Mohd. Tamit, the Fleet
Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy.
Aside from the bilateral exercise,
social and sports activities were also organised to further enhance
ties between the members of the Royal Brunei Navy and the Royal
Malaysian Navy, who took part in the naval exercise. --
