Brunei Girl Guides To Host
International Peace Camp

Begawan - The Girl Guides Association of Brunei will host the
International Peace Camp 2003 this September.
The camp will take place near the
Youth Village, which is adjacent to the Hassanal Bolkiah National
Stadium.
Girl guides and guiders from four
countries will be flying in to the Sultanate to participate in this
camp. Australia, Cambodia, Malaysia and the United Kingdom will be
sending a total of 23 representatives.
The opening ceremony will be
conducted on September 2 at the Orchid Garden Hotel in Berakas where
Her Majesty Pengiran Anak Saleha, the Royal Patron of the Girl Guides
Association of Brunei Darussalam is expected to grace the grand
ceremony.
The Peace Day 2003 ceremony will be
celebrated by approximately 80 girl guides and guiders from within the
nation as well as those from abroad at the Royal Berkshire Hall of the
Jerudong Park Polo Club.
Throughout the International Peace
Camp, various forums and workshops are scheduled to take place. An
International Night will be celebrated by girl guides at the Girl
Guides Headquarters in Kg Anggerek Desa.
The Girl Guides Association of Brunei
Darussalam was first introduced back in 1951 and only became a full
member of the WAGGGS in 1996.
