Brunei Team For ABU Robot Contest

Begawan - Brunei team is to participate in the second Asia
Pacific Broadcasting Union, (ABU) Robot Contest, Robocon on Sunday in
Bangkok.
five students from the Jefri Bolkiah
Technical Engineering College representing the country are now ready
with their creations for the contest.
They will depart on Friday. The theme
for the second Robocon is 'Takraw Space Conqueror'. Brunei team
called, 'Samot', has spent much time in researching for the design
concept, seeking technical and material information for building the
robots.

Soon Wei Fong a member of the team, said they faced serious problems
in getting parts as Brunei do not have many shops selling electronic
and specializes mechanical parts.
Meanwhile yesterday afternoon a Doa
Selamat ceremony was held for the team.
Dr Hisham Bin Haji Mohd Sum The
Acting Special Duties Officer, who was representing the Deputy
Permanent Secretary One at the Ministry of Educatton, handed over the
country's national flag to the team.
Brunei team will be competing with
twenty others from 19 countries around the Asia Pacific. Brunei
participation is coordinated by Radio Television Brunei in
collaboration with the science, technology and environment partnership
