The Goldner String Quartet performed
last Friday night at the Vanda Restaurant, Orchid Garden Hotel in
conjunction with the Brunei Music Society's 30th Anniversary.
The string quartet's performance was
organised by the Brunei Music Society, together with Musica Viva
Australia and the Australian High Commission.
Delivering the welcoming speech was
Mr Allaster Cox, Chairperson for the Brunei Music Society.
The prestigious Goldner String
Quartet was formed in 1995. The quartet has been playing together
since 1991, and come from the highly acclaimed Australia Ensemble
(resident at the University of New South Wales).
The Brunei Music Society has
organised a musical weekend to celebrate its 30th Anniversary,
commencing August 1 and 2, including the performance of Philippines
pianist, Adolovni Acosta, also at the Orchid Garden Hotel last night.

Concert were HSBC, TOTAL, CfBT, Standard Chartered Bank, Jati
Transport and Ernst & Young. Other support was also received from
Orchid Garden Hotel, Katz I Design Group, Processta Printing and
Trading, Expression Music and Brunei Press.
The presentation was made possible
with cooperation and assistance from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the
Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the Mabohai Sports Club.
