Nokia Warns Against Hoax SMS

Begawan - Mobile phone supplier Nokia is denying that it has
circulated text messages informing the recipients that they have won
some cash prize in a Nokia Mobile Promo.
In a statement released by Nokia
Malaysia, the company acknowledges that the hoax Short Message
Service' (SMS) has been circulating in Brunei Darussalam, and warns
recipients not to respond.
"Please be advised that Nokia has
not initiated any such campaigns or appointed any third party to run
the campaigns," read the statement.
"Nokia regrets the inconvenience
caused to our customers and the public by the action of the individual(s) who have perpetrated these hoax messages. The public is advised not to
respond to these messages." The message reads: "Congratulations!!
Your mobile number has won Euro 900,000 in the ongoing Nokia mobile
promo. To claim your prize, call +34 634-039-199 & email: nokia7724@yahoo.com". -- Courtesy of
