Community Call For Innovation

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Consultative Councils of Mukims and Villages have been urged to be more active and innovative when promoting activities and programmes in creating model citizens and stabilising the expansion and advancement of the community and its public facilities.

The activities drawn toward economic and educational aspects help increase the standard of living and maintain a peaceful society while bringing up a more knowledgeable community, said Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Adanan bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mohd Yusof.

He officiated the Dewan Kemasyarakatan Mukim Sengkurong and the product exhibition and Aktiviti Majlis Perundingan Mukim and Kampung (MPK) Mukim Sengkurong yesterday morning.

Twenty computer sets for the community halls under the Brunei-Muara District Office were handed over by the representative from Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn Bhd, Awang Haji Kamaludin Bungsu, to the Minister of Home Affairs who distributed them to the village leaders for community halls in their areas.

Also in attendance were permanent secretaries and deputy permanent secretaries from the Ministry of Home Affairs, village leaders and settlers in Mukim Sengkurong.

The event started with the singing of the national anthem. The recital of the Al-Fatihah was led by the Imam of Sultan Sharif Ali Mosque in Sengkurong, Awang Haji Hanafiah Haji Mahmud.
