Brunei for tug-of-war meet in
Amsterdam

Brunei Darussalam Tug-of-War
Association was invited by Tug-of-War International Federation to
attend the annual TWIF Congress and Seminar in Amsterdam,
Netherlands from April 25-26.
The delegation of six Exco members
from the association led by its President Pg. Haji Jadid bin Pg.
Haji Omarali and Deputy President Dr Chan Hiang Heng @ Sui Kiat and
four secretaries and officer, Awg Haji Yusof Ladi, Pg Hj Bakar Pg Hj
Sulaiman, Awg Jumaat Damit and Pg Hj Md Iskandar Shah left for
Netherlands yesterday to attend the congress and seminar.
According to Pg Hj Md Iskandar Shah
the main objective of the association to attend the congress and
seminar is to highlight the association's aims.
'It also acts as a platform for the
association to introduce and promote the Sultanate through
Tug-of-War at the international level, which they have successfully
organised meets locally and at the Asean level.
The meeting also provided an
opportunity for the association to share and exchange views and
experience with other participating nations and also learn the (TWIF)
technical rule and system of the competition.
The President of TWIF, Mckeever
will officially launch the Congress and Seminar which will be
attended by more than 50 countries that are active in holding
tug-of-war competitions.
The association wished to thank the
Youth and Sports Department, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports
as well as Promotion and Tourism Department, Ministry of Industry
and Primary Resources for their help and commitment for the success
of the event.
