PM’s Office Keglers Champions

Begawan - The Prime Minister's Office proved that they are
the best bowling team among the ministries after capturing the
overall winner's trophy of the Civil Services Day 2007 Bowling
Tournament at Utama Bowling Centre on Sunday night.
The tournament from April 14-20 saw
the Prime Minister's Office winning three of the four contested
categories scoring 23 points with a total of 7,731 pinfalls.
With 16 points and a total 7,151
pinfalls, Ministry of Development was second and the Ministry of
Education took third place with a total of 14 points and 6,948
pinfalls. In Category A (VIP team), the Prime Minister's Office team
`A' took first place with a total of 1,964 pinfalls. The team
comprised of Ak Hj Sabarin Pg Hj Mhammad, Abu Dakar bin Hj Mina,
Noriah Hj Ismail andPg Hj Bahrin Pg Hj Bahar.
Second place went to Ministry of
Education with 1,798 pinfalls followed by Ministry of Communications
in third place with 1,789 pinfalls.
In Category B (Division 3, 4 and 5)
the Ministry of Development out-bowled the rest of the field to take
first place. The team consisted of Shaharudin Hj Sabtu, Hj Yakup Hj
Alim, Hj Roslan Hi Salleh and Alias Bidin. The Prime Minister's
Office was second followed by Ministry of Education.
The Prime Minister's Office again
outshined the other teams and took thetop spot in Category C (men's
team open). The Prime Minister Office's ` k'team comprised of Hj
Yakub Bakar, Said Hj Bakar, Pg Shariful PSI Pg Hj Ismail and Ridzuan
Hj Ahmad. They scored a total of 2,066 pinfalls.
Second place went to Ministry of
Education followed by Ministry of Development in third place. In
CategoryD (ladies team open), thePrime Minister's Office again
emerged as champion with a total of 1,730 pinfalls. The ladies team
comprised of Hjh Jauni Hj Awang Damit, Dk Salwana Pg Hj Ibrahim,
Masuriayati Hj Abdul Hamid and Hjh Simah Hj Yusof Khan.
The Ministry of Development was
second with 1,687 pinfalls and Ministry of Education was third with
1,579 pinfalls.
Musa Haji Hussin of the Ministry of
Education scored 1,517 pinfalls to win the men's singles open
category. Mahadi Hj Basman from Ministry of Finance was second with
1,493 pinfalls and Budiman Hj Brahim from Prime Minister's Office
took third place with 1,493 pinfalls
In the ladies single open, Dk
Maswarty binti Pg Hj SSulaiman from the Ministry of Defence won
first spot with 1,017 pinfalls followed by Hjh Janah binti Hj
Sulaiman (974 pinfalls) and Hjh Kamariah binti Hj Mohd Zaini (969
pinfalls).
The guest-of-honour Dato Seri
Paduka Eusoff Agaki bin Hj Ismail; the Deputy Minister in the Prime
Minister's Office gave away the prizes to the winners. The
objectives of the tournament were to foster closer ties among all
the civil servants working under various .ministries as well as to
raise the mental and physical fitness of the participants.
