Day Of Celebration For Maktab Duli's Top Achievers

Bandar Seri Begawan - Fifty-eight students of Maktab Duli PMAMB who performed exceptionally well in their 2007 GCE A-Level exam were feted during an awards ceremony yesterday.

One of the top achievers was Amilyn Quah Yen Sze, who scored straight A's in her six subjects.

According to the Acting Director of Curriculum Development, Ak Abdullah Pengiran Hj Tengah, who was the guest of honour at yesterday's event, there has been a slight improvement in students' performance in the A - Level examination.

A total of 802 students sat for the A-Level exam last year, he said, adding that 55 per cent of them scored at least three A's.

"This is a one per cent increase in comparison to the results for 2006," said the guest of honour. He also congratulated all top students as well as their parents for a job well done.

A teacher from the college's English Department said that the A-Level awards ceremony is held on an annual basis to honour top achievers. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
