Ministry Hands Donations Over To Fire Victim

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) Foundation continues to provide assistance to the less fortunate including fire victims in the country.

The YSHHB Foundation and the Community Development Department, Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sports, presented donations to a number of families during a special ceremony, which was held at Yayasan Complex in Jalan Kumbang Pasang yesterday afternoon.

Presenting the donations on behalf of the Community Development Department was the Minister of Culture Youth & Sports, Pehin Major General (R) Dato Awg Hj Mohammad Hj Daud, while the YSHHB Foundation was represented by its Managing Director, Dato Paduka Awg Hj Ali Hashim Hj Daud.

The YSHHB Foundation contributed a total of $6,400 to six families who were affected by the fires that struck their houses in Brunei-Muara, Tutong and Belait.

The recipients from Brunei-Muara were the families of Awg Hj Abd Manap Bugal and Awg Kamarolhanan Hj Zaman, while the recipient from Tutong was the family of Awg Hj Mohd Tahir Bakir. Donations were also presented to the families of Dyg Ramlah Mohammad, Dyg Khatijah Ghani and Dyg Jamilah Ghani from Jalan Mumong Kecil in Kuala Belait.

Meanwhile, the Community Development Department presented $6,400 to Awg Hj Abd Manap Bugal, $6,000 to Awg Kamarolhanan Hj Zaman, $5,400 to Awg Hj Mod Tahir Bakir and $500 to Awg Hj Harris Mohd Nor llham Hj Suhaili. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
