Battery Thieves Fined $4,000 Each

Bandar Seri Begawan - Three local men produced before the Bandar Magistrate's Court on counts of theft yesterday were sentenced to fines after pleading guilty.

Rosli bin Hj Akop, 36, Abu Bakar bin Osman, 27, and 16-year-old Mohammad Zulhilrni bin Hj Awang Akop stole two batteries of an excavator belonging to the government at Jalan Kecil, Simpang 1796, Kg Tg Nangka, Jalan Tutong on April 14.

The second count read that all three defendants stole two Nagoya batteries of a truck belonging to a local company at Simpang 1723, Kg Tg Nangka, Jalan Tutong on April 14.

All three men were imposed fines of $4,000 or serve a jail term of four months each. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
