HR21 Way To Realise Ministry’s
Vision, Goal

Begawan - The launch of HR21 yesterday saw another
illustrious chapter opened for the Ministry of Development and the
milestone Human Resource Management System could go along way in
helping the Ministry achieve its vision and goal.

Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdullah bin
Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar cited human resources as being
key and critical for any organisation, and in particular to realise
the Ministry's vision of "Quality Living; Sustainable Development;
Prosperous Nation".
"In our efforts to realise the
vision of this Ministry, we utilise a variety of systems... However
no matter how good and, elaborate the system if the users do not
have the capabilities required, then the results will not be as
desired," said Pehin Dato Awg Hj Abdullah.
"Development must be implemented
wisely, to ensure that it is sustainable," said the Minister,
reminding that any development that takes place now will have an
impact on further generations as well as the current one. "I hope
that each member of this Ministry can appreciate what is laid out in
the vision statement."
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of
Development, Awg Hj Mohd Rozan bin Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Yunos, said
in his opening remarks that should the aspects above not be
undertaken with professionalism, it would impact negatively on the
organisation.
Designed in house by the Ministry
of Development, HR21 caters towards the Human Resource Planning,
Human Resource Management and Human Resource Development needs of
the Ministry. HR21 is able to make online reports
and analyses, amongst others it is capable of handling a variety of
human resource modules, which include Career Progression Analysis
and Succession Planning Analysis to Manpower analysis, appraisals,
personnel data, and also training and development needs.
"What's more the HR 21 system is
dynamic, in which it can continuously be expanded in accordance to
the needs and developments in due time," said Hj Mohd Rozan. The initiative which kicked off in
August 2007 was approved by the top level of management in January
this year. Next month will see the implementation within the
Ministry of Development, with further briefing and workshops.
