27 Students Take Part In National Physics Olympiad

Bandar Seri Begawan - Twenty-seven local students currently studying at sixth form centres, colleges or secondary schools throughout the country and those who had just sat for ‘A' Level examinations took part in the National Physics Olympiad 2008 at STEP Centre yesterday.

The general objective of the Olympiad is to improve the competence of the students in physics.

Other objectives are to develop-the students' talent and further interest in physics, to enhance better understanding for the students on concepts learnt in schools, to provide opportunity for students to explore the application of physics and to motivate students in-developing-their intellectual capacity and skills in physics.

The participating institutions were Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan, Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah, Pusat Tingkatan Enam Berakas, Sekolah Menengah Sayyidina Othman, Sekolah Menengah Sayyidina Ali, Sekolah Menengah Arab Laki Laki Hassanal Bolkiah and Jerudong International School.
