Students Learn Crime Doesn't Pay

Begawan - Pantai Berakas Primary School in cooperation with
the Royal Brunei Police Force yesterday held a crime talk for its
pupils at the Berakas Garrison. More than 50 pupils and teachers
attended the talk.
It was delivered by ASP Mohd Shari
bin Hj Ahmad, Assistant Public Relations Police Unit (RBPF), who
focused on the various criminal offences and punishments aimed at
educating the youngsters that "crime doesn't pay" and the long-term
consequences for committing crimes.
ASP Mohd Shari also talked about
Section 376 (rape) - if found guilty a 30-year imprisonment plus 15
strokes of the cane, Section 380 (break in) - if found guilty a
10-year imprisonment or fine or caning, and Section 392 (robbery) -
if found guilty, a 30-year imprisonment plus 12 strokes of the cane.
The session also provided an
opportunity for the students to interact with representatives from
