School Conducts Field Trip To
Dairy Farm
By Ben Ng
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Mashhor Dairy Farm received a visit from 77
children, all of whom were students aged three to six from the
Joyful Kids Montessori School, last Saturday.
The children, accompanied by their
teachers and parents, were given the opportunity to gain first-hand
experience of dairy producers - the cows.
"This is our first visit here, and
as we have been learning more on vertebrates and mammals, we thought
it would be a good-idea to expose the children and give them some
first-hand experience," said the school principal, Caroline Wong.
"Saturday's excursion marked the fourth field trip the children made
this year, said the principal. "Prior to this, we went to the
Duolos ship and the Fisheries Department."

Operations Manager said this was the second visit they received this
year. "The first was from UBD."
"We are currently undergoing
renovations, so certain areas are restricted, for safety reasons,"
the operations manager said.
"If (the visitors) came at around
6am to 7am, they would have been able to view how the milking
process is carried out," he added.
"The milking process requires
certain skills. You have to be very gentle when milking (the cows),"
said the operations manager.
"On good days, the farm can produce
a maximum of 18 litres per day. The minimum would be six litres." -- Courtesy of Borneo
