Girl Guides Association Holds
Final Round Of Al-Quran Reading Contest

Bandar Seri Begawan - The final
round of Al-Quran Reading Competition for the Girl Guides
Association-.of Brunei Darussalam was held yesterday at the Sukma
India Hall, Rimba II Primary School.
Present as the guest of honour was Hajah Aisah bte Haji Husin, Director of Schools,
Department of Schools, Ministry of Education.
The competition was one of the
annual activities of the association, which comprises Brownies, Girl
Guides and Young Leaders programme.
The competition was divided into
three categories namely the Brownie Category (aged 6 to 11), Girl
Guides Category (aged 12 to 16) and Guiders/Young Guiders (aged 17
and above).
The participants were
representatives of the Girl Guides Association from the four
districts.
Since the establishment of the association in the four
districts, each district has taken turns to be the host for the
final round competition and this year, the Brunei-Muara Girl Guides
Association was the host.
This year was the 18th year for the
association in organising this competition that involves all the
four districts.
The objective of the competition is
to motivate and nurture the association members especially the
Brownies and Girl Guides to be good and fluent al-Quran readers as
well as having the confidence to perform in front of others.
The
results and prize presentation ceremony will be held in May. -- Courtesy of Borneo
