Kayaking Through The Brunei River

Bandar Seri Begawan - Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Dewa Major General (R) Dato Seri Pahlawan Hj Mohammad bin Hj Daud led a kayaking expedition through the Brunei River yesterday.

He was joined by 80 staff and officers from the ministry's Youth and Sports Department, the Youth Centre Canoe Club members and helped by the ABDB kayak trainer.

The kayaking programme was aimed to strengthen ties between the staff under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports; to show good sportsmanship and fellowship; and to share goodwill with the residents of Kg Pudak.

The seven-kilometre expedition kicked off from the Art and Handicraft Centre at 8am. It covered the Brunei River through checkpoints at Kg Pintu Malim Mosque Bridge, Kg Pelambayan Religious School Bridge and Queen Kg Dato Gandi Bridge. Its destination was Kg Pudak, Mukim Kota Batu.

The journey took two hours to complete. Although many were clearly tired halfway through the course, they still persisted to show good sportsmanship.
