Mobile Phone Theft In Hospital

Begawan - Mobile phone theft, which was rampant at the
hospital two years ago, is relatively less serious lately, said the
Public Relations Office at the Royal Brunei Police Force yesterday.
"We used to receive up to five
cases of mobile phone theft about two years ago, along with missing
wallets and purses. But last year recorded one to two cases," said
Assistant Public Relations Head at the RBPF ASP Sahri. "So far this
year, there has yet been a report on the matter."
Meanwhile, in response to two
drowning cases early this month due to high tide, he advised parents
and guardians to be alert and not allow their children to play alone
at the verandahs of their water village houses.
On April 2, a four-year-old girl
drowned at Kampong Bolkiah Village, Kampong Ayer, while another
five-year-old boy met with similar fate in Kampong Pengiran Tajuddin
Hitam four days later.
ASP Sahri also said seven theft
cases were reported in the last four days, at a hotel in Jerudong, a
garage in Jalan Kecil, Sungai Liang, Lambak Kanan, Lambak Kiri
National Housing Scheme, and Serusop.
Items snatched were: 30 roof tiles
of a house under construction, a brass bar,. a gate, a wire, a
wallet containing a credit card and $300 in cash, a bicycle, a road
tax, a gas cylinder, a sports car rim, a piece of cloth, and a tool
box. Four locals and a foreigner were detained.
Another five theft cases were
reported in two restaurants in Yayasan, Beribi, Jalan Kebangsaan, an
electrical sub-station in Kampong Angau, and Kampong Anggerek Desa.
Items stolen were: $600 worth of
gold and silver bracelets, three Nokia phones, a laptop computer, a
Sony Playstation console, and three mobile phone battery chargers.
One fire, one harassment case, one assault involving three men, and
one trespassing case were also reported.
One labour case and four customs
violation cases were also recorded, leading to six arrests.
Three misuse of drugs cases were
also reported, with two local men as well as two foreigners
detained.
There were also six immigration
cases, with five men detained. Thirty accidents were recorded: 20
car accidents, eight freak accidents, one car-motorcycle collision,
