Freak Accident

Bandar Seri Begawan - A car plunged into a drain by the roadside in Jln Tutong yesterday morning in a freak accident.

Two fire engines from the capital and Beribi were rushed to the scene after receiving a call at around 10.12am to pull the passenger out of the car first and the drain next. The firemen had to break the front and side window of the car and also had to cut its roof to pull the driver out.

Police personnel also arrived and the driver was eventually pulled out in about 15 minutes and rushed to the RIPAS Hospital. The mishap led to a traffic jam from mile one in Jln Tutong up to the palace. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
