Sugar-Free Coke Zero Launched In Brunei

Bandar Seri Begawan - The launch of the much-anticipated Coca-Cola Zero, a zero-sugar, zero-calorie soft drink, took place at Rizqun International Hotel of The Mall, Gadong, yesterday afternoon where amongst those present were F&N Coca-Cola management and the authorized distributor Syarikat Perniagaan Malar Setia.

F&N Region Marketing Manager (Singapore/Malaysia/Brunei) Jasmin Vinculado noted that Coke Zero has been a huge hit around the globe with a new generation of young adults who want the original Coca-Cola taste with zero sugar.

"With these two great positives, we hope Coke Zero's arrival in Brunei will show Bruneians just what all the hype was about, giving them the best of both worlds," she added.

Using a tri-blend combination of sweeteners ace-K (acesulfame potassium), aspartame and sucralose, it allows, it to reproduce the classic Coca-Cola taste without sugar and advances in beverage sweetener technology have made the impossible possible only in recent years.

Assistant Brand Manager Ng Hui Ling noted that Coke Light has seen an average 28% annual growth since 2004, demonstrating the demand for light soft drinks.

"However, we also think there's a large market for people who want the features of Coke Light but with the taste of classic Coca-Cola. That's where Coke Zero comes in," he said.

Coke Light resonates with sophisticated, urbane audiences, while Coke Classic holds ground with the mainstream and younger, active-crowd.
