Registration Open For 1st Tasek
Climbathon

Begawan - The 1st Brunei Tasek (5-km) Climbathon, jointly
organised by Bluewaters Event Management and the Ministry of
Culture, Youth and Sports, will have a top purse of B$5,000. Venue
of the climbathon slated for April 20 (Sunday) is at the Tasek Lama
Recreational Park in Bandar Seri Begawan.
Closing date is April 18 at 4:30pm

Categories in the climbathon are:
Men's Open (age 16 to 39), Men's Veteran (40 years and above) and
Boys' Open (10 to 15 years), Women's Open, Women Veterans (40 years
and above) and Girls' Open (age 10 to 15).
Winner of Men's Veteran Open gets
B$500 with return air tickets to Kota Kinabalu, Men's Open will
receive $500 plus return air ticket to Kuching and Boys' Open gets
$500, medal and certificate.
Runner-up for the three categories
receives $200, and third spot gets $100 while 4th to 10th finishers
receive only trophy and certificate.
For those who can complete the
route within 1hr 30mins, two 29 inch television sets are up for
grabs for two lucky runners, one night (deluxe room) at Sheraton
Utama Hotel including two breakfasts will be given to two lucky
runners. Best Costume will receive a hamper.
The climbathon route traverses
steep hills, crossing streams by logs, amidst breathtaking views and
waterfalls.
"For the first time, the pacer is
the traditional Gulingtangan instrument where its ‘gong' will echo
melodiously throughout the hills and jungle of the race," said the
