Energy Day To Fall On May 24

Begawan - Brunei will celebrate Energy Day on May 24 and in
conjunction, the Energy Division of the Prime Minister's Office will
be start Energy Week 2008 from that day.
Energy Week is a campaign to create
an awareness to ensure cooperation by all concerned on using energy
efficiently and economically, said Dyg Dina Yahya, Special Duties
Officer at the Energy Division of the Prime Minister's Office
yesterday.
She said all these efforts are
blunted if only certain people are aware of it, hence this year, the
Prime Minister's Office will focus on enhancing awareness whereby
each individual could play an important role toward energy-saving.
She said this is in line with this
year's Energy Week theme being "Bersama-sama Bergerak Kearah
Kecekapan dan Pengjimatan Tenaga". Various activities will be
organised including a logo design and poster competition open to
residents and permanent residents of Brunei, aged 16 years and
above.

Participants can send in more than one entry for both categories.
All works must be original and should reflect a Brunei perspective.
Attractive prizes include $2,000
cash for the winner in the logo design while winner of the poster
drawing for category A will receive $2,000 while category B winner
will get $1,500, with 15 consolation prizes of $50 for respective
categories.
Participants should submit their
poster and logo together with identity card photocopy to the Energy
Week Organising Committee. Closing date for entries is April 23 at
