KESAN Holds Explorace For Youths

Bandar Seri Begawan - Persatuan Kemajuan Insan (KESAN) organised its first Explorace at Berakas Forest Recreation Park last Sunday.

The character of our youth, the future leaders of the country, is an urgent point of discussion today.

Laudable efforts have been made by our youngsters to take charge of their own development and future, in response to calls from many parties to halt the worrying trend of abhorrent behaviour seen amongst the younger members of our society.

The day-long Explorace was held to challenge the minds as well as the physical stamina of its participants through the use of various skill-intensive exercises and puzzles placed throughout the park. The event attracted 40 participants, consisting of students from various institutions and schools in Brunei-Muara.

KESAN is a youth organisation whose main objectives are to teach its members the concept of perseverance, sacrifice, understanding and cooperation as well as leadership.

Explorace encourages knowledge and skill acquisition, the development of positive qualities such as confidence, discipline, awareness and physical strength amongst its members. It currently has more than 50 members consisting of students from secondary school to higher learning institutions.

Previous events held by the organisation included motivational workshops and a visit to PusatEhsan.

The event ended with a prize presentation by the Assistant Director of KESAN, Haji Marsidi Haji Akip to the winning teams as well as certificates of participation.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
