Skali Shares Knowledge On
Usability
By Mohammad Abdullah
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Sharing knowledge is one of the keys to be
successful in the world of IT. Skali, a leading e-business
specialist is holding a seminar on the concept of usability and its
implementation at iCentre today (April 9) at 2pm.
The seminar is targeted for IT
project managers, Information Architects (IA) and end-users.
The seminar entitled `Sharing
Knowledge for Usability' will be conducted by Skali's IT Executive,
Siti Nasyroh Hj Mat Nayan, who has successfully, implemented and
delivered the Ministry of Religious Affairs Web portal and system
applications. She said that the seminar aims to increase the
awareness on the concept of IT project usability, and to share the
knowledge on how Skali implement the concept.
"Usability is the measure of user
experience and user satisfaction. One of the issues concerning
usability is the project team's inability to design a system that
the end-user really wants. The project team made a mistake by
designing what they `think' the user would want. This practice has
been around for quite sometime, hence we need to change it and make
it easier for the users and client.
"There is also a greater need for
accessibility, where there is a need to make portals and web designs
to cater for everyone including those with visual impairment and
visual weaknesses." -- Courtesy of Borneo
