Beibu Gulf stretches its wings

China's Fanchenggang, Beihai,
Qinzhou and 21 other ports mark a new dimension for the coastal
economic zone of Beibu Gulf, Guangxi in China.
The development is also seen as a
good opportunity for Brunei's shipping industry, as stated by
Minister of Communications Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri
Setia Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong during the China-Asean
Port Development and Cooperation Forum of the 4th CAExpo last year.
This minister also foresaw economy
to grow in the coastal area if the connectivity between the Chinese
ports and Puala Muara Besar port is made.
Guangxi
will strengthen energy, iron ore, container transport system as well
as linking the hinterland of the transportation supporting systems
construction and improving coastal port capacity.
